Ade and Melissa, "A Woman's Work"
This is what dance is all about. The ability to share an emotion, to FEEL that emotion, and take you to a place that often words cannot. This is what this contemporary piece, choreographed by Tyce Diorio and danced by Ade Obeyomi and Melissa Sandvig on "So You Think You Can Dance" accomplishes.
This amazing piece attempts to captures the internal and external struggle, turmoil and confict that a person with cancer experiences. It is a range of emotions: from despair to hope, from weakness to an unimaginable strength. Cancer does not affect a person...it affects a family, a community. Anyone who has ever been touched by cancer, will appreciate this piece and FEEL the emotion that these artists so beautifully portray.
It has been a long time since anything has touched me so much, so I wanted to share this with you. Please take the time to watch and listen to the judges afterward...very powerful.
