It's official: Emily finally rode a horse!!! Since before she was born, my dad and Peekie have been preparing for the day when their first grandchild would mount a fine steed and ride off into the sunset. They bought her a mini horse name Peppermint, they take her up to the ranch, buy her books and movies about horses, but up until this point, she refuses to ride them. The closest she has ever gotten is when she pet one of their horses, Poco, a few weeks ago.

Well, wait no more...She is an official cowgirl. Dressed in her western best, with pink cowboy boots to match, Emily mounted one of the horses at her cousins Farm birthday party today and rode on. She loved her first ride so much, that she went back for a second ride on a different horse. While I am sure that Pappy and Peekie are disappointed that they were not there to witness this event, they can take heart in the fact Emily is officially a rider! Way to go, Em :)
